Automation Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement system-level testing procedures in an Agile environment.

• Build, scale, and maintain test automation frameworks using Playwright and Cucumber for web applications and APIs.

• Create, develop, and execute intricate automated software test plans.

• Analyze requirements and produce artifact tables and testing strategies for the development of automated test scripts.

• Review testing documentation, establish testing standards, define testing criteria, assess test results, and present findings.

• Develop and execute test scenarios, scripts, and procedures for unit, process, functional, system integration, and acceptance testing.

• Evaluate testing bases and assist in refining requirements for testability, clarity, and correctness.

• Create or maintain databases of known test defects.

• Conduct test design activities and develop both positive and negative test cases that are traceable to system requirements.

• Plan testing schedules and strategies aligned with project roadmaps and delivery timelines.

• Participate in product design reviews, offering insights on requirements, designs, schedules, and potential issues.

• Assist in formulating software test plans that encompass strategy, approach, processes, schedules, pass/fail criteria, test environment architecture, and test lab resources.

• Set up, configure, and maintain dedicated infrastructure servers and testing environments.

• Deploy, manage, and configure automated test suites on staging servers or distributed grid nodes.

• Ensure stable headless execution and reliable artifact/report collection.

• Analyze risk identifiers and document software defect diagnostics along with proposed solutions.

• Support test readiness reviews and formal system verification of requirements.

• Collaborate with software developers, engineers, business analysts, and requirements personnel on static analysis and dynamic testing.

• Utilize Atlassian tool suites including JIRA and Zephyr.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.

• Over 7 years of professional experience in test engineering.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

• U.S. Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria for obtaining the security clearance.

• Active Secret security clearance is preferred.

• Experience in developing software test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

• Background in automation testing.

• Familiarity with Selenium, MS Playwright, Cucumber, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit, or other automation testing frameworks/tools.

• Experience with LoadRunner and other manual testing tools.

• Proficient in designing and executing end-to-end automation frameworks using Playwright in conjunction with Cucumber.

• Expertise in Java and JavaScript with Selenium WebDriver in data-driven and/or behavior-driven frameworks.

• Experience with functional and regression testing processes.

• Proven ability in designing, writing, testing, and documenting efficient testing solutions.

• Experience with user interface acceptance testing, backend testing, and software testing.

• Familiarity with API testing using Postman and Rest-Assured or similar tools.

• Experience in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining Linux infrastructure servers or cloud instances for standalone test environments.

• Linux and Bash scripting experience is an advantage.

• Familiarity with Java and JavaScript frameworks in HTML5/CSS3 contexts, including AngularJS, jQuery, and D3, is a plus.

• Knowledge of RESTful APIs/JSON and SQL.

• Strong understanding of networking, permissions, and server configurations.

• Experience in a DevOps environment is preferred.

• Familiarity with continuous integration tools and platforms such as Jenkins, Maven, Jira, Git, GitHub, GitBash, Stash, or Bitbucket.

• Knowledge of JMeter and LoadRunner is a bonus.

• Ability to assess software products for readiness and determine pass/fail criteria.

• Capability to develop test strategies, create test schedules, and identify testing risks.

• Proficiency in capturing test data, analyzing test results, and communicating findings or deficiencies.

• Understanding of quality assurance testing automation principles, practices, and procedures.

• Experience with all phases of the SDLC as it pertains to software testing.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
