This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Analyzing intricate requirements and design documents to create comprehensive step-by-step manual test cases.
• Executing manual test cases, documenting actual results during execution, reviewing test outcomes, and reporting any anomalies in the defect tracking database.
• Creating new automation scripts and updating existing ones to accommodate newly introduced functionalities.
• Running automated test scripts, documenting execution results, and identifying any unsuccessful executions.
• Conducting Load/Performance testing by executing load test scripts and generating reports of the load test execution results.
• Monitoring defects from inception to resolution, detailing the defect description, and collaborating with developers to reproduce issues.
• Deploying software to testing environments and reviewing server logs during testing to identify errors and/or unexpected log entries.
• Participating in and/or facilitating peer review meetings for test cases, providing feedback to ensure that developed test cases fulfill client requirements and verify the requested functionality.
• Supporting the test lead in creating release test plans, generating RTM, maintaining the regression test database, and producing test reports at the conclusion of each testing phase.
• Assisting the test lead in conducting internal quality assurance checks on all deliverables to guarantee completeness, accuracy, and adherence to client standards.
• Integrating automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to facilitate continuous testing and delivery.
• Collaborating with DevOps to ensure smooth automation within build and deployment processes.
• Ensuring thorough test coverage through automated test cases.
• Providing support to business analysts regarding business/functionality requirements and developers concerning technical requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (4 years of experience may substitute for the degree).
• A total of 5 years of IT experience, primarily as a software test engineer.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship.
• Over 3 years of experience as an Automation test engineer.
• Demonstrated experience as an SDET, QA Engineer, or in a similar capacity with an emphasis on test automation.
• Practical experience with Selenium and/or Playwright automation, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, framework creation, JavaScript coding, and API testing.
• In-depth knowledge of Software Testing Lifecycle and Testing Methodologies.
• Ability to analyze complex requirements and design documents to formulate detailed test cases and scripts.
• Proficiency in executing test cases, documenting actual results, identifying software defects, and generating test reports.
• Experience with Quality Center or similar test management tools.
• Familiarity with Unified Functional Testing tools or similar automation scripting tools like Selenium.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Basic knowledge of Structured Query Language.
• Experience with configuration management and version control tools such as the Atlassian suite, JIRA, and/or Subversion.
• Exceptional organizational, presentation, and business analysis skills.
