This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Create, develop, and sustain automated testing solutions for intricate applications and services.
• Establish automation test strategies and plans that align with enterprise objectives and delivery schedules.
• Design, build, and maintain UI, API, and integration test automation frameworks and suites.
• Develop, document, execute, and analyze complex test scenarios, including edge cases and failure-mode coverage.
• Relay test results to stakeholders effectively.
• Engage in system integration and validation activities.
• Set and uphold quality control standards, reliability and regression programs, test data management, and traceability.
• Ensure testing procedures adhere to relevant security, accessibility, performance, SDLC, and organizational standards.
• Detect systemic issues in test coverage, tooling, environments, or processes and implement measurable enhancements.
• Offer feedback and suggestions for product and design modifications based on test results and defect trends.
• Work collaboratively with engineering teams to enhance testability, observability, and defect prevention.
• Coordinate with vendors or suppliers regarding component-level testing, tooling, and test data requirements.
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring, best practices, and contributions to shared frameworks and standards.
• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Over 8 years of experience in software quality assurance/control, software development, and/or a related field.
• Significant experience in creating automated tests utilizing TypeScript/JavaScript and/or Java or C#.
• Practical experience with React, Next.js, or Angular, including component and UI testing.
• Proficient in Testing Library, UI automation, API testing, contract testing, and reliable test design.
• Background in testing backend services and microservices, including Spring Boot.
• Experience managing dependencies and builds using tools such as Maven.
• Familiarity with container-based integration testing, such as Testcontainers.
• Capability to design maintainable automation frameworks employing clean code, modularity, version control, and CI/CD integration.
• Strong troubleshooting, defect isolation, root-cause analysis, and test-result interpretation skills across UI, API, data, and environment layers.
• Ability to enhance quality processes, establish standards, and promote adoption across teams.
• Excellent written, verbal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted development and testing workflows using OpenCode, Claude Code, and Gemini Vertex AI.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or possess permanent resident status (Green Card).
• Must be eligible to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
• Must have resided in the United States for the past 5 years.
• Cannot have traveled outside the United States for more than 6 months within the last 5 years, excluding military service.
• Experience with Rational or Mercury defect tracking tools is a plus.
