This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Respond promptly to customer requirements and carry out installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs utilizing electronic and computer skills to ensure instruments comply with specifications.
• Key laboratory systems encompass, but are not limited to, BD COR, KiestrA, Microbiology, Molecular, and LC/MS.
• Drive revenue generation by collaborating with service and support teams to enhance field service revenue through billable services such as preventive maintenance and equipment relocations.
• Set customer expectations by clearly communicating the work completed and providing a follow-up plan when necessary.
• Work with customers to proactively schedule and carry out system upgrades as required.
• Record and document all customer complaints in the designated systems for resolution and investigation.
• Maintain the inventory of spare parts, company-issued vehicle, and all assigned equipment (such as laptop, tools, and test devices) in proper working condition as per policy.
• Exercise sound judgment in the use of the company credit card, ensuring compliance with established business expense guidelines.
• Travel will include both scheduled and unscheduled visits, with a higher frequency of overnight stays for extensive territories and occasional national travel.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotations (approximately every six weeks), requiring local phone availability and potential national travel for instrument support.
• Consistently uphold a professional appearance.
• Must engage in vendor credentialing programs and complete the necessary vendor credentialing requirements to gain and sustain access to customer facilities. A Real ID is required for candidates.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical, or related fields OR a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, or electrical systems in commercial, industrial, or military environments is required.
• Proficiency in understanding electronics, electro-mechanical devices (Mechatronics), PLCs, and pneumatics.
• Intermediate knowledge of information systems networking architecture design and setup.
• Intermediate understanding of computer software operating systems, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers' information technology personnel and lab leadership to schedule and perform routine software upgrades and maintenance.
• A valid driver's license is required, with at least three years of driving history; availability to work flexible hours, travel up to 50% of the time outside the home geographic area, and be on call as necessary to meet business demands.
• Capability to lift up to 30lbs frequently and 70lbs infrequently, manage standing/bending/stooping for up to 10 hours, push/pull materials weighing up to 100lbs, while adhering to all company Personal Protective Equipment standards and guidelines.
