Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design and create workflow automations within Hickory's technological landscape.

• Develop and sustain API-driven system integrations.

• Construct and oversee Azure-based cloud infrastructure and services.

• Write and maintain scripts and small applications to enhance automation capabilities.

• Implement version control and CI/CD methodologies for automation code.

• Contribute to the technical and solution design for automation and process improvement initiatives.

• Utilize AI tools to discover automation opportunities and expedite development and troubleshooting.

• Assist in monitoring, logging, QA, and testing within automated workflows.

• Promptly escalate issues as they arise.

• Collaborate with operational and business stakeholders to pinpoint manual, error-prone, or repetitive processes suitable for automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

• Familiarity with Azure or another major cloud platform.

• Hands-on experience in developing workflow automations using Workato, Power Platform, or similar tools.

• Strong understanding of APIs and system integration patterns.

• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C#.

• Practical experience with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines.

• Working knowledge of AI tools and comfort in using AI-assisted technologies.

• Experience in contributing to technical or solution design for automation or process improvement projects.

• Exposure to monitoring/logging, QA/testing, or manufacturing/warehousing/operational systems is a plus, but not mandatory.

• Hands-on problem solver with a focus on process improvement.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
