This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.
• Develop comprehensive 2D AutoCAD drawings for warehouse racking systems.
• Design warehouse layouts in accordance with customer floor plans and project specifications.
• Create detailed rack elevations, plan views, sections, and installation drawings.
• Generate layouts for Selective Pallet Rack, Push Back Rack, Drive-In Rack, Pallet Flow Rack, and Rack Modules.
• Revise existing drawings based on engineering feedback or customer modifications.
• Ensure that drawings comply with company drafting standards and project specifications.
• Confirm dimensions, rack capacities, aisle widths, clearances, and storage configurations.
• Produce bills of materials (BOMs) and drawing packages for manufacturing and installation purposes.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, project management, and estimation teams.
• Maintain orderly project files and track drawing revisions.
• Review customer markups and accurately implement design modifications.
• Assist in quality control by verifying the accuracy and completeness of drawings.
• Adhere to warehouse safety protocols and relevant rack design standards.
• Submit finalized drawing packages for evaluation.
• Progress towards positions as AutoCAD Designer II or Project Manager.
• Fundamental knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings and drafting principles.
• Ability to interpret architectural and warehouse floor plans.
• Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn about warehouse storage systems and material handling equipment.
• An Associate's degree or diploma in Drafting Technology, CAD Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology, or equivalent technical training or relevant experience.
• 0–2 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting or design.
• Internship or academic project experience is acceptable.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with PDF editing software.
• Understanding of CAD standards and layer management.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
• Capability to review large-format engineering drawings.
• Occasional travel to project sites or warehouses may be required.
