This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Validate dental insurance benefits, coverage limitations, deductibles, exclusions, frequencies, and annual maximums.
• Execute insurance verification and ensure accurate insurance and demographic data is maintained in the EHR.
• Generate treatment cost estimates and convey expected patient financial responsibilities.
• Manage internal and external dental referrals and prior authorizations, which includes collecting documentation and submitting necessary information.
• Monitor referrals and authorizations until completion, providing timely follow-ups and updates.
• Organize specialty appointments, follow-up care, and documentation from external healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, front desk personnel, insurance carriers, and specialty offices.
• Keep organized records of insurance, referrals, and authorization documentation.
• Prepare and distribute reports on pre-authorization status for dental leadership and designated providers.
• Foster a positive patient experience through responsive communication, professionalism, and compassionate service.
• Adhere to organizational policies, payer requirements, and HIPAA standards while facilitating efficient clinic operations.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of dental experience is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accurate and organized work.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and see them through to completion.
• Clear and compassionate communication skills with patients, families, providers, and insurance representatives.
• Comfort in navigating insurance benefits, referrals, authorizations, and financial information, or a strong desire to develop expertise in these areas.
• A respectful, strengths-based approach that acknowledges patients’ ability to make informed decisions regarding their care.
• Capacity to flourish in a collaborative environment and act as a reliable resource for patients and the dental team.
