Auditor – Functional Specialist, Quality

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Maintain an extensive and current understanding of the prevailing PIPAG and Clinical Guidance Notes from the Clinical Governance Team, proactively seeking clarification when necessary.

• Conduct quality checks on a designated number of reports each day against the criteria established and communicated by the in-house Clinical Governance Team, based on their interpretation of the most relevant PIPAG.

• If needed, offer constructive and impartial advice in the form of audit feedback to Functional Specialists (FS) to assist them in amending and re-submitting reports that meet required standards.

• As part of the audit feedback process, acknowledge strengths in written reports by making specific references in the feedback.

• Provide constructive, impartial, and supportive advice to FSs who reach out via the telephone support lines, ensuring that the details of each conversation are accurately documented in the appropriate section of the CRM for FSQ colleagues to reference in any future auditing of the discussed case.

• As part of the Quality, Learning, and Support process, notify the FSQ Team Manager (FSQTM) when an emotional or clinical support need has been identified for an FS.

• Ensure ongoing compliance with Capita Group and Local Online Mandatory Training (OMT) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) modules, adhering to Capita’s policies and procedures.

• Maintain professional registration and Authority Approval, acting in accordance with the relevant UK Professional Code of Conduct, and being accountable for your practice and professional actions at all times.

• Contribute to clinical and service transformation, including piloting new initiatives.

• Perform any additional duties as required by the Business that are appropriate for the role.

• Be clinically calibrated to the standards established by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the Clinical Governance Management Team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A UK registered Health Professional with at least 12 months of post-registration experience and current, unrestricted professional registration with one of the following bodies: GMC, NMC, HCPC.

• Hold current DWP PIP approval and maintain approved Functional Specialist status, as awarded by DWP, without any restrictions pending or in progress towards professional registration, along with a minimum of 16 months’ experience as a Functional Specialist.

• Experience in clinical effectiveness, quality assurance standards, feedback, peer review, audit methodology, and/or impartial review.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the physiological, pathological, social, and cultural factors underlying the PIP assessment criteria, with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong oral and written communication skills to write concise audit feedback and discussion records on the CRM, actively listening to others and ensuring effective two-way dialogue, recognizing that FSs will have varying levels of experience and tenure.

• A working understanding of clinical governance.
