Auditing Manager – Validation & Verification

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Manage the entire lifecycle of validations and verifications within the Programme (including VVB selection, audit mandate negotiation, and approval), ensuring audits are delivered on time, comply with standards, and maintain high quality.

• Assist in the onboarding, technical training, and performance evaluation of independent VVBs.

• Develop and oversee quality assurance and quality control measures for all validations and verifications, including the implementation of a VVB performance evaluation system for ongoing improvement.

• Drive the strategic advancement of validation and verification functions within the Equitable Earth Programme.

• Supervise regular updates of procedures and guidance, incorporate feedback from VVBs and other stakeholders, and investigate and apply innovative methods to enhance audit efficiency, scalability, and credibility.

• Forge strategic relationships and partnerships with accreditation organizations, represent Equitable Earth in industry discussions, and ensure the Programme aligns with ISO principles and best practices within the voluntary carbon market.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in auditing or certification, with practical field experience in conducting or supporting audits as part of an audit team.

• A background in forestry is advantageous.

• Lead Auditor certification is highly preferred (ISO 17029, ISO 14065, ISO 14064, SA8000), or equivalent experience with auditing standards.

• Demonstrated experience in the voluntary carbon market, nature-based solutions, or related product certification schemes.

• Familiarity with ARR or REDD+ methodologies is a plus.

• Strong project management capabilities, with a proven track record of managing audit teams or certification partners.

• Exceptional drafting and editing skills, particularly for standards, procedures, or technical documents.

• Experience in managing or supervising staff, with the ability to mentor and develop team members.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• Knowledge of Portuguese and/or Spanish is highly desirable.
