Audit Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Provide support to the Audit department while enhancing audit skills through both mandated and risk-based audits.

• Aid in the planning, coordination, and execution of internal audits and reviews aimed at assessing the design, implementation, and operational effectiveness of internal controls.

• Create and update documentation related to internal controls.

• Conduct thorough testing for internal audits and the Annual Financial Reporting Model Regulation (AFRMR) project to ensure the successful completion of the departmental audit plan.

• Effectively communicate identified risks and deficiencies to management by presenting audit recommendations clearly.

⛳️ Requirements

• Degree program(s) / Current Status: junior or senior level undergraduate, Master’s level student, or recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology related fields.

• Preferred: Internal Audit Specialization with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required.

• Relevant Coursework: Audit-related coursework and/or experience is highly preferred.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

• Familiarity with Microsoft Access or other IT tools is an advantage.

• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

• Ability to think analytically and present ideas in a professional manner is required.

• Must be self-motivated, adaptable to a dynamic work environment, and possess a team-oriented mindset.

• Undergraduate candidates should be able to work 20 hours per week during the spring and fall semesters and 30-35 hours per week during the summer.
