Audio Engineer – Speech, TTS Audio Specialist – Brazilian Portuguese

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Edit and process voice recordings in Brazilian Portuguese for TTS and speech AI systems.

• Execute audio cleanup tasks, such as trimming silences, reducing/removing breaths, de-clicking, de-essing, and minimizing noise.

• Perform quality assurance checks for issues like clipping, distortion, background noise, artifacts, loudness consistency, and level balancing.

• Ensure that audio files adhere to the technical specifications required for machine-learning training pipelines.

• Assess the accuracy, naturalness, and fluency of Brazilian Portuguese pronunciation.

• Handle large batches of recordings while ensuring consistency and maintaining throughput.

• Collaborate on Brazilian Portuguese speech datasets, recordings of voice talents, and workflows for model training.

• Prepare high-quality audio datasets to aid in the training and enhancement of AI systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in Brazilian Portuguese.

• Strong auditory intuition for the nuances of Brazilian Portuguese speech.

• Experience in editing speech or voice recordings, rather than solely music production.

• A solid understanding of speech audio quality standards and common issues found in recorded dialogue.

• Practical experience with audio restoration software such as iZotope RX, Pro Tools, or equivalents.

• Capability to identify and rectify audio artifacts, inconsistencies, and technical defects.

• Experience managing high-volume audio datasets or structured workflows.

• Familiarity with TTS vendors or platforms is preferred.

• Previous involvement in speech machine learning, voice AI, or workflows for dataset creation/annotation is preferred.

• Understanding of audio quality assurance pipelines, labeling, or evaluation processes is preferred.

• Experience directing or editing recordings of Brazilian Portuguese voice talent is preferred.

• Detail-oriented with excellent critical listening skills in Brazilian Portuguese.

• Comfortable working on repetitive, high-precision tasks at scale.

• Ability to balance speed and quality in production settings.

• Knowledgeable about the differences between human Brazilian Portuguese speech and the requirements for synthetic voices.

• Must not require H1-B or STEM OPT support.
