This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Detect patterns, trends, and actionable insights within data and effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
• Gather and evaluate data pertaining to both internal and external marketing campaigns, which encompass on-air promotions, social media, email, podcasts, and advertisements.
• Ensure that data is accessible, complete, consistent, and formatted appropriately for analysis and strategic development.
• Assist in the creation and upkeep of analytics tracking for website features and functionality.
• Collaborate with the Director of Data Strategy and Audience Insights to identify research and data requirements and the methods for collection and analysis.
• Develop and implement consistent processes and standards for data collection and cleansing.
• Gather, clean, and analyze data from diverse sources.
• Clean and transform data using Microsoft Excel and other tools to facilitate the analysis of extensive data sets.
• Convey project scope, timelines, progress, and significant findings to the Digital Services Bureau.
• Coordinate with PBS and NPR partners, vendors, and data providers such as Nielsen, Triton, and mobile app developers.
• Recognize critical data issues and help facilitate their resolution.
• Maintain documentation of methodologies and source mapping while aiding in the development of data workflows.
• Generate quarterly, monthly, and ad hoc tracking, dashboards, and reports.
• Transform data into Looker Studio dashboards to illustrate trends and insights.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field from an accredited institution OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Preferred one to three (1 to 3) years of direct and sustained relevant experience in data, analytics, research, reporting, or digital media.
• Understanding of fundamental data administration and management functions, including collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Familiarity with databases, CRM systems, or customer data platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including handling large data sets, using formulas, pivot tables, and data cleaning techniques.
• Knowledge of Looker Studio and Google Analytics, or similar analytics and reporting tools.
• Experience in analyzing digital or media-related data; experience with broadcast media data is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with tools or data sources such as Nielsen, Triton, or Brightcove is a plus, though not required.
• Strong attention to detail alongside scheduling, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Capability to work with data in various formats and assist teams with data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to apply analytical thinking and practical problem-solving skills.
• Competence in asking questions, clarifying needs, and working effectively in situations where requirements are not fully defined.
• Willingness to develop an understanding of and interest in public media and the mission of Connecticut Public.
• Initiative to manage priorities and follow through on assigned tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate data findings to colleagues with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Must be capable of remaining at a desk/computer workstation for extended periods.
• Must possess close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
• Light work capability, able to exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally.
• Almost fully remote work arrangement.
• Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Evening and weekend support may be required.
