AU Tax Accountant – Australian Public Practice

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Prepare individual and business tax returns for Australia from inception to completion, including the analysis of income and expenses, rental schedules, capital gains tax (CGT), and schedules for sole traders.

• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), financial statements, and income tax returns for sole traders, companies, and trusts utilizing Xero.

• Utilize ATO Online Services for Agents to download reports and assist with tax compliance efforts.

• Maintain bookkeeping records, fixed asset registers, payroll, and associated compliance responsibilities.

• Assist with registrations for ABN, TFN, GST, and conduct ASIC annual reviews and company modifications.

• Establish and maintain client records in Xero Practice Manager (XPM) and related systems.

• Support the preparation of documentation for the establishment of companies, trusts, and superannuation funds.

• Enhance procedures and identify opportunities for improving internal processes and efficiency.

• Address client inquiries, undertake ad-hoc tax/accounting projects, and fulfill other duties as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4+ years of experience in Australian public practice tax is required — ESSENTIAL / NON-NEGOTIABLE.

• Significant experience in Australian Business Services and Tax.

• Ability to manage accounting and tax tasks independently with minimal supervision.

• Proficient with Xero, Xero Tax, Hubdoc, XPM, and QuickBooks/MYOB; experience with SuiteFiles is preferred.

• Comfortable using ATO portals and navigating Australian tax systems.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
