Attorney II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Evaluate new and transferred file assignments and draft initial evaluation letters to claims.

• Provide initial discovery within 30 days of assignment.

• Summarize discovery responses and medical records within 30 days of receipt.

• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, lay witnesses, and expert witnesses.

• Complete deposition summaries within 20 days.

• Perform legal research and draft motions, oppositions, and replies.

• Represent the company in court for law and motion matters.

• Prepare for and conduct bench trials, jury trials, and binding arbitrations.

• Create pretrial documents, motions in limine, oppositions, trial motions, and posttrial motions.

• Carry out various tasks and assignments from managing and senior managing attorneys.

• Defend 1st and 3rd party personal injury lawsuits from inception through posttrial motions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

• Admission to the bar in the state(s) of practice.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense or a related field.

• Proven experience as the primary attorney defending personal injury lawsuits.

• Completion of at least 3 insurance defense personal injury trials to verdict or equivalent litigation experience.

• Strong understanding of insurance, tort law, evidence, civil procedure, and trial practices.

• Excellent communication, persuasion, and analytical abilities.

• Capable of managing a caseload with exposures up to $150,000.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess strong organizational skills.

• Willingness to travel by automobile, up to 20% of work time.

• Must comply with established company standards regarding personal driving history and current license status for eligibility.
