📋 Description

• Promptly respond to interpreting sessions and perform interpretation in a professional and friendly manner.

• Accurately convey concepts and meanings in accordance with established interpretation protocols, ensuring no omissions or additions.

• Communicate clearly in both languages, utilizing appropriate pronunciation, enunciation, and courteous expressions.

• Uphold a professional demeanor throughout all interpreting sessions.

• Maintain composure during interpreting sessions, particularly when one of the primary speakers is upset or incoherent, especially in emergency situations like 911 calls.

• Adhere to client instructions, complying with protocols to meet client expectations with Limited English-speaking Persons (LEP), refraining from engaging with the LEP without the client's consent.

• Show a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and thrive in a diverse working environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Assyrian and English, with a deep understanding of the associated cultural dynamics.

• Capable of providing cultural competency and recognizing regional and accent variations to effectively communicate with LEP.

• Exceptional listening, retention, and note-taking abilities to ensure high accuracy during interpretation.

• Ability to maintain concentration, remain detached from conversations, and uphold neutrality and objectivity, particularly in sensitive discussions involving end-of-life issues, pregnancy termination, vaccinations, and topics related to sexual orientation or gender expression.

• Preferred education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
