Associate Video Producer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Support the creation and independently edit video stories showcasing The Athletic’s reporters during Saturday and Sunday evenings.

• Collaborate with various teams, including highlights and social video departments.

• Record video into the centralized archive system.

• Partner with video producers and editors to craft engaging narratives from field reporters.

• Adhere to The Athletic’s style guide and formatting standards.

• Educate reporters on effective filming techniques using their smartphones and assist them throughout the production process.

• Transform reporter footage into captivating stories with coherent narratives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in editing news, vertical, and social video using Adobe Premiere Pro.

• A sincere passion for various sports; prior experience in sports coverage is advantageous.

• A background in journalism and a grasp of newsroom operations.

• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in teams.

• Eagerness to learn and work together in a remote newsroom environment.

• Availability to work during nights and weekends.

• Strong foundation in video editing and visual storytelling.
