This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• We are looking for an Associate Substation Structural Engineer who possesses a minimum of 2 years of experience with a utility or utility consulting firm specializing in design engineering.
• Proficiency in the design of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations is required.
• Responsible for the direct design of civil and structural components for bid and construction packages related to substation projects.
• Conduct design calculations and create construction-grade engineering design drawings under the guidance of a licensed civil engineer.
• Site visits to client substation facilities will be necessary, along with occasional travel for client meetings.
• A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering with at least 2 years of experience, or a Master of Science (MS) with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Mathcad software is required.
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAFE, SAG10, and LPile software is preferred.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation software is also preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and technical writing abilities are essential.
• Must be a collaborative team player with effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
