This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with Product Management, domain specialists, senior architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to support, enhance, and deliver solution architecture for cloud-based SaaS features and capabilities, including proof-of-concept initiatives aimed at exploring new enhancements.
• Work alongside Engineering teams to devise practical solutions that strike a balance between functional requirements, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability throughout the development lifecycle, which includes technical problem-solving and refactoring tasks.
• Engage in the review of engineering designs and implementations to ensure they align with the approved solution architecture, standards, and compliance expectations.
• Aid in the creation and upkeep of clear and accurate architecture artifacts and decision records, guaranteeing that solutions are thoroughly understood and traceable among stakeholders.
• Effectively communicate architectural concepts and modifications, supporting engineers through design reviews, collaborative sessions, and knowledge sharing in conjunction with more senior architects.
• Take part in architecture governance activities, contributing to the implementation and adoption of standards, principles, policies, and best practices for the platform.
• Ensure that architectural recommendations are logical, consistent, and aligned with the platform strategy, compliance requirements, and long-term sustainability.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and architectural practices, actively learning and assessing how solution patterns, blueprints, and delivery approaches can evolve.
• Utilize modern tools, including AI-assisted research and analysis, to aid in architectural exploration, informed recommendations, and continuous improvement.
• Foster a culture of innovation by assisting teams in responsible experimentation while maintaining architectural quality, platform integrity, and customer trust.
• 1–3 years of experience in solution architecture, technical design, or complex system design within a software or SaaS environment.
• Over 4 years in software development or related technical roles, including hands-on experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript, or equivalent).
• Practical experience with both front-end and back-end technologies (React, Node.js, Spring, or similar) and distributed systems concepts such as microservices and APIs (REST and GraphQL).
• A solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, computational complexity, and the capacity to evaluate and articulate design trade-offs.
• Exposure to data-driven systems, with knowledge of data modeling, data management, OLTP, and cloud-based SaaS application design, including considerations for scalability and multi-tenancy.
• Hands-on experience with implementations in Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud platforms using cloud-native patterns in a SaaS application.
• Experience utilizing AI-enabled development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, SpecKit, or similar) for coding, design, analysis, or documentation.
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities with engineers, product managers, and technical stakeholders.
