This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Develop, sustain, and support Java-driven services and APIs that form the backbone of essential B2B integration solutions.
• Design, construct, and manage high-scale, fault-tolerant, low-latency microservices within a cloud-native AWS setting.
• Engage throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from solution design and development to deployment, monitoring, and continuous support.
• Contribute to event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to convert requirements into technical solutions.
• Enhance applications, services, and engineering practices through ongoing improvement and innovation.
• Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code deployments.
• Participate in agile methodologies and deliver iterative releases to production.
• Assist with monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in software engineering, or a relevant qualification that encompasses core software development principles.
• Proven experience in creating and maintaining Java-based applications or services.
• Familiarity with HTTP-based services, APIs, and microservice architectures.
• Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience with distributed systems and eventual consistency.
• Understanding of Continuous Integration and source control using Git-based platforms.
• Proficiency in at least one dynamic programming language, such as JavaScript or PHP.
• Awareness of unit testing, integration testing, and security considerations.
• Willingness to assist in frontend development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript when necessary.
• Capability to diagnose issues at both code and platform levels.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with AWS serverless technologies like Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, or DynamoDB is a plus.
• Knowledge of Docker and orchestration platforms is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Datadog, or API management platforms is desirable.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and infrastructure automation is a plus.
