This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess responses to examination questions from teacher candidates in Illinois and New York.
• Internalize the established scoring standards.
• Engage in discussions and collaborate with fellow scorers during consensus scoring activities.
• Identify and address various types of bias, as well as implement effective strategies to minimize personal biases in scoring.
• Adhere to quality and productivity standards set for the scoring program.
• Complete necessary training prior to the commencement of scoring.
• Attend a brief orientation session before the scoring day, if required.
• Participate in scoring sessions Monday through Friday on an intermittent basis, two to three times a year, with scoring hours from 8:30 a.m. to around 4:30 p.m., including training.
• Possession of a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• A valid teaching certification in the language for which you are applying.
• Currently teaching or having taught in public or private schools within the last three years, including regular substitute teaching, OR having been an educator in a college or university with a degree in a content-relevant field and/or experience teaching or advising in a content-relevant field within the last three years, OR being a native or fluent speaker of the language (reading, writing, and speaking) with a college degree.
• Basic computer skills (keyboard and mouse proficiency).
• Capability to sit for extended durations.
• Ability to maintain a confidential work environment.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Must pass a qualifying test prior to scoring.
• Flexibility to choose scoring sessions that accommodate your availability.
