This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assess responses to examination questions from California teacher candidates.
• Understand scoring criteria, engage in discussions, and collaborate with fellow scorers in consensus scoring sessions.
• Identify and address different forms of bias (such as implicit bias, cultural bias, leniency bias, central tendency bias, and the halo effect) and implement strategies to minimize personal biases during assessment.
• Meet the quality and productivity standards set for the scoring program, which includes passing a qualifying examination prior to scoring.
• Be a native speaker of the language and possess a college or university degree.
• OR hold a graduate degree in the relevant language.
• OR possess a Single Subject Teaching Credential in the appropriate language.
• OR be an educator at a college or university with a degree in the language and/or responsibilities for teaching or advising students in that discipline.
• OR have authorization to teach the corresponding language in California public schools.
• OR have experience as a scorer for the Single Subject Assessments for Teaching in the relevant language.
• OR have served as a CTC-approved member of the relevant CSET language test development and/or standard setting committee.
• Be a California resident with the legal right to work in the United States.
• Have fundamental computer skills (keyboard, mouse).
• Ability to remain seated for extended durations.
• Capability to uphold a confidential work environment.
