Associate, Scoring Service

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess answers provided by California teacher candidates on test questions

• Internalize evaluation criteria and engage in discussions

• Collaborate with fellow scorers in consensus scoring initiatives

• Identify and address implicit biases such as cultural, leniency, central tendency, and halo-effect biases

• Implement techniques to mitigate personal biases during scoring

• Achieve quality and productivity benchmarks set by the scoring program

• Complete necessary training and any brief orientation prior to scoring

• Participate in scheduled scoring sessions for the designated language

⛳️ Requirements

• Native proficiency in the relevant language with a college/university degree, OR a graduate degree in the appropriate language, OR a Single Subject Teaching Credential in the respective language, OR a college or university educator with a degree in the language and/or responsible for teaching or advising students in that discipline, OR authorization to teach the corresponding language in California public schools, OR prior experience as a scorer for Single Subject Assessments for Teaching in the relevant language, OR past service as a CTC-approved member of the appropriate CSET language test development and/or standard setting committee

• California resident authorized to work in the United States

• Basic computer proficiency (keyboard, mouse)

• Capability to remain seated for extended durations

• Ability to uphold a confidential work setting

• Must fulfill scoring program quality and productivity standards, including passing a qualifying examination before scoring
