
Associate Product Manager – LiveOps, Economy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with Product and leadership to establish goals, success metrics, and maintain clear decision records.
• Continuously update and refine rules, restrictions, and balance lists based on team feedback and data analysis.
• Suggest, assess, and authorize changes to gameplay or systems as necessary.
• Analyze the economy and content using playtest data and player feedback to achieve design objectives.
• Define and adjust economic models in alignment with product and market objectives, including reward pacing.
• Identify new content or features, transform them into user stories, and prioritize the development backlog.
• Prepare necessary materials and obtain stakeholder approval across Product and Game Design.
• Coordinate player-facing communications with the Marketing and Community teams.
• Set up and manage live tools for configuring test builds and events across various environments.
• Iterate on features and economies through methodical testing and data analysis.
• Oversee release readiness, including staging, content lock, and production submissions.
• Monitor outcomes, document insights, and incorporate improvements into future project roadmaps.
• A minimum of 2 years in product management for games, with a focus on LiveOps and practical systems or economy design.
• Demonstrated success in launching live events or re-runs and iterating based on data and feedback.
• Strong foundational knowledge in game design, encompassing systems, balance, and progression.
• Ability to convert goals into detailed specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience in defining and fine-tuning economies, rewards, and balancing grind versus reward pacing.
• Proficient in conducting structured playtests and translating insights into actionable modifications.
• Adept at cross-functional leadership, working collaboratively with Design, Engineering, QA, Art, and Marketing teams.
• Excellent documentation skills in Confluence or similar platforms, along with clear asynchronous communication.
• Proficient in Jira or comparable project management workflows, roadmaps, and backlog prioritization.
• Data literate, comfortable with spreadsheets and basic SQL or analytics tools for KPI evaluation.
• Experience in preparing stakeholder presentations and obtaining approvals on project scope and modifications.
• Player-first mindset, with strong UX intuition and the ability to derive insights from player outcomes.
• Capability to configure event tooling or other live-ops pipelines across Development, Staging, and Production.
• Bonus:
• Experience with collectible, card, or ban-list-driven games or competitive modes.
• Familiarity with A/B testing or experimental design for balance and economic adjustments.
• Understanding of monetization design and sensitivity to player trust.
• Comfortable coordinating player-facing communications with Marketing or Community teams.
• Portfolio or samples showcasing design documents, change logs, and outcome metrics.
