This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a subject matter expert while contributing to the enhancement of practice-area knowledge and technical standards.
• Function as a senior technical authority and advisor on various projects, focusing on project design and quality oversight.
• Offer technical guidance throughout the firm and provide formal mentorship to Advisors and Senior Advisors.
• Lead the delivery of active engagements as the primary client-facing contact and the final reviewer for all deliverables.
• Supervise state-scale program evaluation engagements, which include evaluation design, multi-site evaluation architecture, metric development, readiness assessment, and performance reporting.
• Direct or oversee public health data modernization initiatives, covering data strategy, HIE integration advisory, data governance design, data quality frameworks, and staff capacity-building.
• Identify potential delivery risks and escalate suggested mitigations to the practice lead.
• Contribute to after-action reviews and knowledge capture upon project completion.
• Act as the primary account manager for ongoing client relationships.
• Shape technical strategies, contribute to budgets and pricing, and write or co-write sections of proposals.
• Participate in go/no-go decisions as the technical representative.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for organic growth within existing client relationships.
• Collaborate with the Senior BD Advisor on sourced pursuits.
• Enhance the capabilities of junior and mid-level staff through mentorship, coaching, and challenging assignments.
• Develop and sustain a thought leadership platform and present at least one relevant conference each year.
• Write or contribute to capability statements, case studies, and methodology briefs.
• Take part in MEQI practice leadership meetings and semi-annual strategy reviews.
• Execute additional responsibilities that support BME’s mission and client commitments.
• A Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Health Informatics, Biostatistics, or a closely related field is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in applied public health, program evaluation, health data systems, or a closely related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in a consulting firm environment.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in people management.
• At least 7 years of client-facing experience, including 4 or more years in project leadership roles.
• Proven experience in supervising and developing staff in a professional services or consulting context.
• A strong record of managing state-level or large-scope client relationships, including budget oversight and scope management.
• Experience in business development, including proposal writing and client relationship management, at a senior level.
• Strong analytical skills across both quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information for non-technical decision-makers.
• Proficient facilitator and presenter, comfortable engaging in conversations with senior-level clients and partners.
• Capability to juggle competing priorities across multiple engagements and staff.
• Familiarity with public health systems and practices at the local and state levels.
• Understanding of evaluation frameworks, quality improvement tools, performance management, or public health data modernization.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced consulting environment.
