This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Oversee a profitable product line and formulate strategic business plans.
• Deliver product leadership, representing the portfolio and clients across various audiences.
• Utilize data to create market-informed business proposals, mitigate risks, and steer strategic decisions.
• Establish long-term objectives based on research and trends, setting metrics-driven milestones and connecting datasets to formulate solutions for complex business challenges.
• Combine experience, market knowledge, and insights to make impactful decisions and long-term strategies.
• Translate priorities into structured end-to-end development plans that include budgets, resources, performance objectives, and key milestones.
• Provide guidance to project teams, fostering effective communication and ensuring the timely delivery of multiple products within scope and budget.
• Foster a creative and collaborative environment.
• Deliver high-quality learning experiences for both students and instructors.
• Build and maintain relationships with key authors and decision-makers to gather customer insights, enhance adoptions, and identify new talent.
• Acquire a thorough understanding of competitors and anticipate their activities.
• Identify and test product concepts within segments through focus groups, advisory boards, reviews, and customer meetings as appropriate.
• Regularly evaluate product and portfolio plans to ensure alignment in forecasting and measurement of progress towards objectives.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing and Sales teams to promote and secure adoptions.
• Work in tandem with colleagues from various functional areas (Learning Design, Content Production, Marketing, Sales, Technology, etc.) on discipline-specific initiatives.
• Develop compelling needs-based discipline, course, and product positioning, along with customer segments for campaign and sales enablement initiatives.
• Present at internal and external meetings, campus visits, and academic conventions to support sales efforts and drive sales.
• Bachelor's degree (BA or BS).
• At least 2 years of experience in product management, product development, or a relevant portfolio management role.
• Experience in cross-functional team leadership.
• Ability to inspire change through influence, demonstrating well-honed social skills.
• Self-discipline with a strong sense of accountability.
• Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, along with an understanding of business metrics.
• Natural curiosity and a willingness to learn, coupled with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective preparation and presentation of information and recommendations to diverse and senior-level audiences.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Expected travel of approximately 10% of the time.
