Associate Manager, Category Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver comprehensive category, consumer, and shopper insights to field category leadership, sales, insights, brand marketing, and innovation teams.

• Formulate Category Leadership 4P Guiding Principles along with impactful category strategies.

• Recognize and develop new insights and category opportunities utilizing available data and insight resources.

• Convert category strategies into actionable plans with recommendations on placement, product assortment, pricing, and promotions.

• Grasp the competitive landscape in which JMS and clients operate.

• Create materials for Top-to-Top meetings with major customers.

• Share insights and learnings both internally and externally with diverse audiences.

• Partner and influence cross-functional teams effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Over 4 years of experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry.

• More than 3 years of experience in Shopper Insights or Category Management.

• Experience in customer-facing roles.

• Proficient in utilizing IRI, Nielsen, and panel data.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and storytelling capabilities.

• Proven experience in building relationships with customers and retailers.

• Background in analyzing shopper- and consumer-focused CPG data.

• Exceptional organizational and written/verbal communication skills.

• Capability to transform insights into actionable strategies.

• Strategic mindset for developing and executing effective plans.

• Strong business and financial acumen.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

• Familiarity with planogramming/planogram software (JDA, EZPOG) is a plus, though not mandatory.
