This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Assist in the development, updating, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of sustainability standards, chain of custody systems, and associated verification and assurance programs.
β’ Facilitate the creation, revision, and maintenance of standards, including the formulation of guidance documents, procedures, and technical specifications.
β’ Engage stakeholders through working groups, technical committees, public consultations, and expert review processes.
β’ Contribute to benchmarking standards and analyzing international best practices.
β’ Offer technical expertise on segregation, identity preservation, controlled blending, mass balance, and book-and-claim systems.
β’ Assess chain of custody methods for their credibility, feasibility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
β’ Identify risks in traceability systems and formulate mitigation strategies tailored to industry and business models.
β’ Stay updated on emerging regulations, policy changes, market expectations, global initiatives, industry practices, and assurance standards related to sustainability claims.
β’ Provide guidance to clients on implementing chain of custody, designing traceability systems, managing sustainability claims, and addressing supply chain risks.
β’ Evaluate client systems and suggest enhancements to improve credibility, transparency, and compliance.
β’ Oversee multiple projects and apply insights gained across various industries and markets.
β’ A Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Agriculture, Forestry, Industrial Ecology, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
β’ Over 3 years of professional experience related to chain of custody systems, traceability programs, certification systems, responsible sourcing, sustainability standards, or related sectors.
β’ Proven experience in developing, implementing, auditing, or managing chain of custody requirements.
β’ Strong comprehension of segregation, identity preservation, mass balance, controlled blending, and book-and-claim models.
β’ Demonstrated knowledge of certification, verification, auditing, or conformity assessment systems.
β’ Exceptional technical writing, research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
β’ Capability to synthesize complex information and apply lessons learned across different industries or projects.
β’ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several projects concurrently.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
β’ A Master's Degree in a related field is preferred.
β’ Experience with sustainability certification or verification programs is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with ISO standards and conformity assessment frameworks, including ISO 17065, ISO 17021, ISO 14021, ISO 14067, ISO 22095, or similar standards is preferred.
β’ Experience with recycled content, responsible sourcing, agricultural commodities, forestry products, chemicals, plastics, textiles, or other traceable supply chains is preferred.
β’ Knowledge of sustainability claims regulations and green marketing requirements in major global markets is preferred.
β’ Experience in facilitating stakeholder processes, working groups, or standards committees is preferred.
β’ Experience in developing auditor training programs, technical guidance, or assurance procedures is preferred.
