Associate General Counsel, Regulatory Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the creation, offering, and implementation of products and services for the public.

• Act as the main legal consultant on product offerings and developmental decisions.

• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and senior management.

• Provide counsel throughout the entire product development cycle, from ideation to launch and subsequent iterations.

• Offer insights on legal and regulatory aspects of new features and product lines, including AI-driven tools, ETFs, and research products.

• Advise on federal and state securities laws and regulations, particularly the Investment Advisers Act.

• Draft, review, and manage the filing of regulatory documents.

• Create and implement compliance programs for new initiatives in collaboration with team members and external service providers.

• Draft legal disclosures, terms of service, and disclaimers.

• Provide advice on regulatory compliance aspects of AI-enabled tools and automated financial communications.

• Identify and address risks associated with marketing materials, disclosures, and communications directed at members.

• Draft and review agreements pertinent to product and operational activities.

• Keep abreast of industry trends, legal risks, and regulatory changes, and educate internal stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of legal experience, with in-house and/or law firm background, advising on product development within or related to financial publishing, fintech, InvestTech, or other financial services sectors.

• Extensive substantive and practical understanding of investment management law, securities regulation, and other relevant rules, with a focus on the Investment Advisers Act.

• Knowledge of consumer financial protection regulations as they relate to consumer-facing products and services.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify legal complexities into practical guidance for non-lawyers.

• Direct experience providing advice on AI-enabled tools, automation systems, or personalization engines in a regulated environment.

• Strong business acumen with the capability to balance risk management and growth opportunities.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
