Associate General Counsel – Product, Commercial

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer legal guidance on intricate data in-licenses, customer sales, and automotive OEM agreements.

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams on matters related to product counseling.

• Draft and negotiate technically sophisticated sales contracts tailored to customers’ use cases and technical implementations.

• Create practical and innovative solutions to finalize complex deals and promote business growth.

• Manage deals while balancing risk management and business goals.

• Enhance operational procedures and revise legal documents to scale the legal department effectively.

• Partner with the legal team and cross-functional colleagues.

• Address a wide array of legal issues as a senior individual contributor without direct reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney.

• At least 2 years at a prestigious law firm in any legal area.

• Minimum of 5 years of in-house experience at a technology company focusing on sales-side commercial transactions.

• Possess at least one of the following: a degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related technical field; 2–4 years of experience in software patent litigation or patent prosecution at a top-tier firm; extensive knowledge of APIs and SDKs; experience in negotiating complex sales agreements.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that are clear and concise.

• A practical, customer-focused approach and negotiation style.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a respected law school.

• Active membership in at least one state bar in the US.

• Openness to working remotely from anywhere in the US.

• Preference for candidates located in the Pacific time zone.

• Technically adept with the capability to learn about products, business operations, and technical implementations.

• Ability to collaborate, accept feedback, and manage various legal challenges.
