This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and negotiate a diverse array of commercial agreements, such as enterprise customer agreements, SaaS agreements, partnerships in marketplaces and channels, retail and fulfillment contracts, vendor agreements, data protection agreements, professional services contracts, marketing agreements, and other strategic transactions.
• Deliver prompt, practical, and business-focused legal counsel to Sales, Partnerships, Product, Operations, Finance, Marketing, People, and other internal teams.
• Act as the primary legal partner for strategic and revenue-generating projects, assisting teams in structuring new products, partnerships, programs, and go-to-market strategies in a scalable and compliant manner.
• Provide legal support for enterprise deals and customer due diligence, addressing privacy, security, compliance, insurance, and product-related inquiries.
• Create, maintain, and enhance standard agreements, fallback positions, negotiation playbooks, approval frameworks, and self-service resources.
• Develop and refine contracting and legal intake processes to minimize friction, expedite deal cycles, and improve visibility into legal work and contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with Product teams on data protection, AI, product counseling, and regulatory matters, including reviewing new tools, data usage, and customer-facing features.
• Offer support on corporate, employment, and general legal issues as necessary, including policy formulation, dispute resolution, compliance initiatives, and coordination with external counsel.
• Keep abreast of pertinent legal and regulatory changes and translate them into actionable guidance for the business.
• Contribute to the establishment of a robust legal function by sharing insights, documenting procedures, and facilitating cross-functional training.
• J.D. from a recognized law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• Approximately 6+ years of relevant legal experience, including significant exposure to commercial contracting; a blend of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.
• Proven ability to independently draft and negotiate complex B2B commercial agreements.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SaaS, technology, privacy, and data protection matters. Experience with marketplaces, payments, gift cards, rewards, loyalty programs, channel partnerships, or retail relationships is especially advantageous.
• Exceptional judgment with the capacity to identify critical issues, propose viable solutions, and escalate matters when necessary.
• Ability to handle a high volume of cases, prioritize effectively, and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear, concise, and adaptable communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey legal concepts to non-lawyers.
• A collaborative, low-ego demeanor and a readiness to engage in both strategic and daily operational matters.
