Associate General Counsel, Commercial

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and provide support across a diverse range of legal and business requirements within a fast-growing, dynamic startup.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop efficient commercial and compliance procedures, including playbooks, templates, self-service workflows, and document management systems.

• Negotiate partnership agreements, data agreements, master service agreements (MSAs), business associate agreements (BAAs), and technology licensing contracts within the technology, digital health, and healthcare sectors.

• Conduct special projects and investigations to facilitate new business growth.

• Act as a trusted legal advisor, identifying and mitigating legal risks within a distributed workforce.

• Keep abreast of relevant industry trends, laws, and regulations to provide reliable compliance advice.

• Manage outside counsel responsibly.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in commercial, technology/IP transactional, or regulatory roles.

• Background in a prestigious law firm environment.

• Preferred experience in-house with healthcare, medical devices, or digital health.

• Strong organizational and project management capabilities.

• Ability to handle multiple matters concurrently in an entrepreneurial and dynamic setting.

• Experience in drafting and negotiating legal documents of varying complexities.

• Strong judgment in recognizing risks and formulating solutions that align with commercial objectives.

• Significant exposure to HIPAA, FDA, FTC, healthcare compliance, and intellectual property issues in digital health.

• Capacity to navigate diverse legal and business requirements.

• Proven ability to quickly comprehend and internalize new information and processes.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills in a distributed work environment.

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.

• Licensed and in good standing with a state bar.
