This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Assist in the design, modification, and commissioning of power system protection and automation solutions.
• Aid in the development of substation protection schemes and the specification of relays for redundant protection systems.
• Create basic engineering drawings, sketches, and documentation under supervision.
• Support the calculation and programming of substation protective relay set points.
• Contribute to commissioning activities by providing field assistance and necessary documentation.
• Acquire knowledge and apply industry standards along with internal design protocols.
• Keep project files and records organized and up to date.
• Work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and utility personnel to facilitate project execution.
• Engage in training and mentorship programs to enhance technical skills.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• 0–2 years of engineering experience in electric utility or power systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory, power systems, and protective relaying.
• Proficiency in CAD software is preferred.
• Capability to follow technical instructions and work under guidance.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and effective time management skills.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation is preferred.
• Internship or related experience is preferred.
