This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the main finance business partner for the Technical Development and Global Quality teams.
• Deliver financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Oversee the annual operating plan, forecasts, and long-term planning processes.
• Create variance analyses, forecast bridges, investment business cases, risk and opportunity evaluations, and presentations for leadership.
• Convert spending, headcount, capital, program activities, vendor commitments, and project timelines into financial forecasts and actionable insights.
• Build financial models, conduct scenario analyses, and establish KPIs for strategic options, resource trade-offs, cost efficiencies, productivity opportunities, and investment decisions.
• Ensure financial oversight for operating expenses, capital investments, headcount, program allocations, and project expenditures.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Corporate FP&A, TOPS Finance, Procurement, HR, Program Management, Technical Development, Quality, and other stakeholders.
• Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements, and systems upgrades to boost FP&A efficiency, data quality, planning discipline, and business transparency.
• Cultivate trusted relationships with senior business leaders and serve as a credible financial advisor.
• Articulate complex financial and business topics to finance, technical, quality, and executive audiences.
• Work across diverse cultures, regions, and functions within a global matrix organization.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, accounting, or business advisory roles.
• Proven experience collaborating with senior functional leaders on operating plans, forecasts, long-range plans, business cases, and resource allocation.
• Strong technical finance expertise, including financial modeling, variance analysis, scenario planning, KPI development, investment evaluation, and financial storytelling.
• Experience supporting technical operations, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, CMC, product development, or similarly intricate functions is preferred.
• Knowledge of financial planning processes, management reporting, internal controls, and the connections between operational activities, accounting results, and overall financial performance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to manage competing priorities, lead cross-functional initiatives, and produce high-quality results under time constraints.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Preferred experience with Oracle, Hyperion, SAP, Anaplan, SAC, Power BI, or similar enterprise finance platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field is required.
• An advanced degree, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, MBA, or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
• Ability to function effectively in a complex, matrixed, multinational biotechnology environment.
• Occasional travel to BioMarin locations and business meetings.
