This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee and uphold the project RFI register.
• Assess, categorize, draft, coordinate, and escalate RFIs until resolution.
• Track the status of RFIs, including due dates, turnaround times, and audit trails.
• Coordinate design deliverables, review cycles, and comment resolution across various disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and specialty fields.
• Monitor design risks, unresolved issues, and action items.
• Organize design coordination meetings, managing agendas, documentation, and action items.
• Identify and relay design process bottlenecks that impact project execution or construction.
• Maintain documentation of design basis, RFI registers, submittal logs, design issue logs, and lessons learned databases.
• Foster collaboration among stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and client teams.
• Generate regular program reports detailing RFI metrics, design status, issue resolution, and project risks.
• Examine RFI trends and recurring issues to enhance processes and design clarity.
• Support protocols for RFI management, governance procedures, documentation standards, approval workflows, and authority boundaries.
• Comply with applicable SOX control responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• Over 8 years of experience in project engineering, design management, construction administration, or technical project coordination on large capital projects.
• Proven experience assisting multidisciplinary design teams through the design development, construction documentation, and construction phases.
• Strong understanding of RFI, submittal, and design change management processes.
• Experience in design-build, EPC, or traditional delivery models.
• Proficient with project information management platforms such as Procore, Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, or similar systems.
• Excellent technical writing and documentation abilities.
• Preferred: experience in supporting data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large infrastructure projects.
• Preferred: knowledge of data center design fundamentals, including electrical distribution systems, mechanical cooling systems, building controls systems, and concepts of reliability and redundancy.
• Preferred: experience in sophisticated program management and governance environments.
• Preferred: exposure to commissioning, design validation, or construction quality processes.
