This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee quality assurance and endorsement of scientific communication platforms, lexicons, disease-state educational materials, program slides, data/publication updates, and congress materials.
• Act as a principal scientific authority, offering editorial, scientific, and strategic insight for designated projects.
• Guide research-driven data analysis and interpretation of clinical trial data for upcoming podium presentations and publications.
• Formulate and execute strategic publication plans in collaboration with cross-functional therapeutic-area teams, internal authors, R&D clinical leads, and study statisticians.
• Review and assist with medical writing for scientific communications while managing external vendors.
• Supervise the review, preparation, and submission of high-caliber publications, presentations, and abstracts.
• Evaluate project-related content for precision and consistency.
• Provide support to Field Medical, participate in conferences, cover scientific sessions and booths, and act as a scientific authority with external stakeholders, KOLs, and healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to innovative communications utilizing interactive PDFs, infographics, podcasts, and new digital media.
• Facilitate discussions on disseminating published data and contribute to strategic scientific communications plans and platforms.
• Manage projects and submit documents within established processes and timelines.
• Support scientific communication and medical affairs initiatives throughout clinical trial, pre-launch, and launch phases.
• A terminal degree is required (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent).
• Experience in ophthalmology or gene therapy is highly preferred.
• A minimum of two years of publication experience is desirable.
• 5–7 years of industry experience is required.
• Proven experience in effectively presenting clinical/scientific information is essential.
• Capability to learn about other disease states if necessary.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills are required.
• Demonstrated ability to foster productive collaborations with medical experts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and relevant hardware is mandatory.
• Ability to effectively interface with Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Translational Research, Technical Operations, Medical Affairs, and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer.
• Willingness to travel for company meetings and medical congresses is required.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work autonomously are essential.
• Ability to excel both in a team environment and independently.
• Must be well-organized, polished, proactive, detail-oriented, mature, and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Hourly compensation ranging from $65.00 USD to $110.00 USD.
