Associate Director, RMS Quality – Small Animal, NHP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage quality assurance programs and quality management systems for Small Animal and Non-Human Primate operations.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, animal welfare standards, company policies, and customer expectations.

• Oversee internal audits, regulatory inspections, customer audits, and initiatives for corrective actions.

• Track quality metrics and trends to pinpoint risks and drive ongoing improvement.

• Collaborate with Operations, Veterinary Services, and Animal Welfare teams to enhance quality, compliance, and operational excellence.

• Direct investigations and resolutions of quality incidents, non-conformances, and compliance challenges.

• Develop, implement, and uphold quality policies, procedures, and standards.

• Manage and nurture quality personnel while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

• Provide strategic direction and reporting to senior leadership regarding quality performance, compliance status, and opportunities for improvement.

• Support business growth initiatives, risk management activities, and quality integration for new programs or operational changes.

• Document and manage organizational risks and mitigation strategies.

• Ensure that licenses are current, records are properly maintained, and renewals are completed timely.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in life sciences is preferred; equivalent experience may be accepted.

• Over 10 years of experience in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or quality systems within life sciences, laboratory animal, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or related fields.

• Proven experience in leading quality programs and teams.

• In-depth knowledge of animal welfare regulations, AAALAC standards, USDA requirements, and quality management systems.

• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

• Capability to utilize data to guide quality and compliance strategies.

• Proficient in developing and executing quality strategies, influencing senior leadership, and driving organizational change.

• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.

• Capacity to manage competing priorities across various functions or locations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate information.

• Skilled in multitasking and delivering quality analysis under tight deadlines.

• Expertise in time management and resource planning.

• Capability to perform duties with minimal supervision.

• Initiative in pursuing self-development efforts.

• Advanced interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients and regulatory personnel.

• Ability to work effectively across state and geographical boundaries.

• Willingness to travel internationally 25% to 30% of the time.
