Associate Director – Product Manager, Retail

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical planning, alignment of architecture, execution, and launch of customer-centric loyalty and quantity-based pricing/promotion functionalities.

• Program manage technical features related to volume discounts, Buy X Get Y strategies, tiered quantity guidelines, and promotional bundling at the cart level.

• Propel integration and enhance performance for points generation, rewards ledgers, tier transitions, personalized offers, and redemption at checkout.

• Map dependencies involving Customer Accounts, Checkout/Cart Services, Pricing & Promotion Engines, CRM, and POS/Store systems.

• Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Enterprise Architects to ensure scalability during high-concurrency peak events.

• Supervise technical deliverables for microservices and APIs that support customer-facing interfaces and backend ledgers.

• Convert business requirements into technical epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with Product Managers.

• Identify technical bottlenecks, schedule risks, and integration challenges; establish plans for mitigation.

• Set operational KPIs and monitor system stability post-launch.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a TPM, Technical Product Manager, or Engineering Lead in Retail, E-commerce, or Consumer Technology.

• Strong technical knowledge of Loyalty/Rewards ecosystems, including points ledgers, member tiers, and dynamic perks.

• Technical comprehension of Promotions/Cart Engines, including Buy Quantity, bulk pricing, and rules-based discounts.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture.

• Knowledge of cloud-native platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with RESTful APIs.

• Understanding of event-driven architectures, such as Kafka.

• Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.

• Experience using Jira, Confluence, and Roadmunk.

• Exceptional capability to convey technical trade-offs to non-technical business partners and express business value to engineers.
