📋 Description

• Oversee and guide the Plan Document Coordinators

• Offer expertise in interpreting benefits and suggest benefit designs to minimize risk

• Collaborate with the Associate Director of Plan Building to ensure that plan documents and plan building align with client requirements and facilitate automated claim adjudication

• Manage the workflow, production, and quality of plan documents for employees

• Aid in staff development, onboarding new clients, and retaining existing clients

• Organize, direct, and coordinate staff assignments while monitoring work performance

• Establish goals and objectives, approve tactical measures, and ensure deadlines are adhered to

• Conduct weekly meetings and evaluate team progress

• Provide enterprise-wide expertise and coordinate with Compliance

• Maintain communication channels, update status, and escalate issues as necessary

• Mentor, coach, motivate, and manage performance for direct reports, including providing feedback, recognition, evaluations, and time tracking

• Set and convey departmental goals and staff expectations

• Evaluate training and development needs while offering opportunities for improvement

• Support daily operations when the workload exceeds team capacity

• Create and maintain precise documentation for the plan document team in a shared repository

• Engage in cross-functional teams and special projects

• Carry out additional duties as assigned


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the healthcare/benefits sector

• At least 1 year of prior management experience

• Advanced understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to the enterprise

• Proficient knowledge and application of English grammar, composition, editing, and proofreading

• Capacity to multitask, prioritize, manage pressure, and make well-informed decisions

• Ability to objectively analyze situations, devise innovative solutions, and take initiative

• Capability to work effectively with various levels of colleagues and senior leadership

• Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

• Proficient in investigating and problem-solving

• Ability to deliver exemplary service to both internal and external customers

• Expertise in MS Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Strong communication skills and the ability to facilitate meetings

• Independent skills in issue resolution

• Advanced critical thinking capabilities

• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with legal/compliance, operations, and client management

• Background in drafting, editing, and maintaining both standard and customized plan language independently

• Willingness to travel to regional field offices

• College degree or advanced education in the insurance industry (CEBS, HIAA, or LOMA) preferred

• Familiarity with Luminare Health systems preferred

• Experience interpreting contracts, statutes, and regulations preferred

• Strong knowledge of plan design terminology and document structures preferred

• Experience in drafting departmental policies and procedures preferred

• Must reside within the continental United States, excluding Alaska, California, Hawaii, and New York
