This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver personalized education, support, and resources to patients and their caregivers concerning the gene therapy treatment journey, encompassing pre-treatment considerations, logistics on treatment day, and post-treatment expectations.
• Inform patients about their gene therapy coverage in relation to their benefits, outlining the necessary steps to obtain prior authorization for better understanding of access procedures.
• Evaluate the needs of patients and caregivers, customizing resources and educational materials to promote understanding, confidence, and support.
• Act as a reliable point of contact for patients, ensuring that inquiries are addressed with compassion and in compliance with regulations.
• Assist patients throughout the treatment process by coordinating support services such as travel, accommodation, reimbursement, and connecting them to available resources.
• Recognize potential obstacles to treatment and implement proactive measures to overcome access difficulties in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Track patient milestones and adherence to treatment schedules, guaranteeing the provision of high-quality and timely support.
• Educate both internal and external stakeholders on the program to enhance awareness.
• Collaborate with Qualified Treatment Centers (QTCs) to monitor patient progress and facilitate support services.
• Partner with QTCs, healthcare providers, and advocacy organizations to improve education for patients and caregivers, boost awareness of program services, and ensure treatment readiness.
• Represent Patient Services at community-based organization (CBO) events, patient advocacy conferences, and industry gatherings.
• Collect insights from QTC visits, CBO interactions, and conference participation to inform the design, messaging, and outreach strategies of the program.
• Relay key insights and patient trends back to internal stakeholders to continuously enhance engagement strategies and optimize program design.
• Contribute to the creation and execution of patient support initiatives, work instructions, patient-facing resources, and best practices.
• Leverage data, analytics, and patient feedback to pinpoint opportunities for program enhancements and drive excellence.
• BA/BS with at least 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech patient services, showcasing expertise in access/reimbursement and complex case management. A Registered Nurse (RN) background and experience in gene therapy are advantageous.
• Direct experience interacting with patients and/or caregivers.
• Strong understanding of payer systems, reimbursement processes, and patient assistance resources.
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers with empathy and clarity.
• Deep empathy, resilience, creativity in problem-solving, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
• Proficient in data analysis and applying performance metrics to enhance program efficacy.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance guidelines for the industry and the ability to assess unique scenarios within the framework of program SOPs, policies, and OIG requirements.
