This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Africa.
• Develop and manage the performance measurement strategy for Healthy Learners, ensuring a clear, trusted, and adaptable framework for monitoring program delivery, quality, and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Maintain core indicators, reporting standards, and data quality expectations that are suitable for internal management, donor accountability, government engagement, evidence generation, and cross-country scaling.
• Facilitate collaboration among Programmes, Digital Health, Research, Innovation, Partnerships, Finance, and country teams to ensure that measurement systems are functional, responsive, and aligned with organizational decision-making needs.
• Enhance Healthy Learners’ strategic analytics capabilities to convert routine data into actionable insights, learning opportunities, and program enhancements.
• Strengthen the evidence-to-action loop, ensuring that data, analysis, research, and implementation learning continuously inform program decisions, adaptations, and strategic priorities.
• Establish analytical standards and processes that enable the organization to detect performance variations, quality indicators, emerging risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Foster a culture that views evidence as a practical input for better implementation, stronger program design, and more disciplined scaling, rather than merely a reporting product.
• Ensure that Healthy Learners’ data and learning systems evolve to support model improvement as it expands, remaining straightforward, affordable, effective, and beneficial to governmental bodies.
• Guide Healthy Learners’ Data as a Service initiative to ensure that school health data becomes a valuable decision-support resource for government partners.
• Enhance the integration of Healthy Learners’ data offerings into government planning, supervision, public health intelligence, and system-strengthening efforts.
• Ensure that government-facing data products, reporting routines, and analytical narratives are credible, responsible, comprehensible, and aligned with governmental decision-making needs.
• Promote government ownership by ensuring that data systems and insights are designed for adaptability, institutional application, and long-term sustainability within public frameworks.
• Strengthen Healthy Learners’ capacity to leverage school health data as a credible public health intelligence resource, ensuring that surveillance-related outputs are accurately defined, interpreted, and communicated.
• Build a connection between Digital Health, Research, Programmes, and government partners to translate technical signals into meaningful public health insights and program learning.
• Ensure that public health intelligence enhances Healthy Learners’ credibility as a government partner, while remaining firmly rooted in evidence.
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in monitoring and evaluation, epidemiology, statistics, economics, public health, data science, social science, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in leading measurement, analytics, strategic information, performance management, or data-utilization functions.
• Strong quantitative and interpretive analytical abilities, including proficiency in making sense of complex program data.
• Experience in developing performance measurement frameworks, indicators, reporting systems, and data quality standards.
• Proven track record of translating data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for decision-makers.
• Experience collaborating with technical teams, program teams, senior leaders, and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated capability to manage teams, establish systems, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience in public health, education, school health, community health, or programs partnered with government (preferred).
• Familiarity with dashboards, business intelligence tools, Power BI, DHIS2, or similar systems (preferred).
• Knowledge of AI-enabled reporting, data governance, responsible data use, digital health systems, or surveillance analytics (preferred).
• Experience in developing government-facing data products or public-sector reporting (preferred).
• Proficiency with statistical or analytical tools such as R, Stata, Python, SQL, or similar (preferred).
• Experience in implementation research, randomized controlled trials, evaluation design, or evidence translation (preferred).
