This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the preparation process for the international fund grantmaking cycle, which includes leading the docket preparation for submission.
• Act as a representative of Astraea in local and international activist circles, philanthropic spaces, and donor affinity groups that align with Astraea’s philanthropic advocacy objectives, engage in public speaking opportunities, and assist staff and grantees in accessing these platforms.
• Play a role in organizational development and institutional enhancement by initiating and participating in organization-wide endeavors, such as working groups and committees, through active involvement on the leadership team and other collaborative decision-making forums.
• Assist with any required organizational audits.
• Aid in the collection of information necessary for any organizational reports as needed.
• Ensure compliance of international fund staff members with all of Astraea Foundation’s policies and procedures.
• Perform Risk Assessments as necessary.
• Guarantee adherence to all internal organizational controls as mandated.
• Manage the daily operations of the International Fund’s activities, successfully implementing programmatic and team processes in close partnership with the VP of Programs and the Director of Operations.
• Supervise staff to ensure they are fulfilling their role and responsibilities as expected.
• Facilitate the onboarding of new hires, helping them acclimate to Astraea’s workplace culture, providing role-specific training, and setting clear expectations.
• Mentor and counsel staff regarding their professional development and performance.
• Collaborate closely with the VP of Programs to establish team direction, identify needs, and prioritize skill-building initiatives.
• Work together with the communications team to develop a shared political analysis and understanding that showcases the work of Astraea, IHRF, and our grantees.
• At least 2 years of experience in grant-making.
• Minimum of 3 years managing individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• A minimum of 3 years of familiarity with social justice movements across various regions.
• At least 3 years of experience in contributing to complex budgets with multiple income sources for various grantees.
