This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee compliance and provide regulatory guidance related to federal, state, and institutional financial aid requirements affecting Duke’s graduate and professional programs.
• Perform audits, assessments, and quality assurance reviews of financial aid processes within graduate and professional schools, identifying compliance risks, inconsistencies, and operational inefficiencies.
• Create written findings and actionable recommendations aimed at enhancing compliance, improving documentation, and promoting uniform practices across schools.
• Lead initiatives and implementation efforts that enhance compliance, operational efficiency, and alignment with regulatory expectations while considering the specific needs of each school.
• Develop and present training and resources to foster a consistent understanding and application of financial aid regulations, policy updates, and best practices.
• Act as a resource by providing backup support as needed for schools with only one aid administrator, ensuring continuity during transitions and periods of high volume.
• Knowledge and skills typically obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's degree program.
• At least 6 years of experience in financial aid with a proven track record in compliance and leadership.
• Demonstrated experience with Title IV regulations and compliance requirements relevant to graduate and professional programs.
• Experience in coordinating efforts across various stakeholders, offices, or academic units.
• Ability to work autonomously, identify compliance risks, and spearhead implementation initiatives.
• NASFAA Financial Aid Administrator Certification (FAAC) is preferred.
• Experience in supporting or overseeing financial aid operations for graduate and professional schools is preferred.
• Experience managing projects that involve multiple schools or organizational units is preferred.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to develop audit findings, guidance documents, and training materials are preferred.
