Associate Director, Data Center Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily operations of the data center, focusing on power, cooling, spatial management, and environmental control systems.

• Supervise preventive maintenance and operational protocols to ensure high availability and resilience.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, storage, and platform teams to align facility activities.

• Lead response efforts for facility-related incidents and facilitate root cause analysis along with corrective measures.

• Guarantee adherence to safety, security, and regulatory standards throughout the data center.

• Monitor vendor performance regarding facilities services and maintenance tasks.

• Strategically plan and monitor capacity for power, cooling, and floor space according to demand forecasts.

• Keep operational documentation, runbooks, and audit records up to date.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing or supporting operations of data centers or critical facilities.

• Practical experience with power, cooling, fire suppression, and environmental monitoring systems.

• Background in managing incidents, change activities, and maintenance schedules in a 24x7 operational environment.

• Capability to coordinate cross-functional teams during operational occurrences and planned events.

• Familiarity with working alongside external vendors and service providers for facilities management.

• Understanding of data center safety, security, and compliance regulations.

• Competence in utilizing operational metrics to assess performance and implement improvements.
