This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Elevate GeneDx’s presence as a frontrunner in early genetic diagnosis and genomic insights.
• Develop and implement a communications strategy that positions GeneDx as a leader in early diagnosis, rare disease advocacy, and equitable access to genomic medicine.
• Design and execute a thought-leadership program that aligns with diagnostic genomics and healthcare priorities.
• Create op-eds, bylines, keynote speeches, and other strategic content.
• Identify and secure opportunities for speaking engagements, awards, and increased visibility.
• Establish thought-leadership and PR calendars that correspond with company milestones, healthcare news cycles, and policy events.
• Drive media coverage across various channels including news, social media, podcasts, and more.
• Collaborate with medical affairs, clinical leadership, policy, operations, and advocacy teams to gather insights and narratives.
• Prepare executives with briefing materials, talking points, and key narrative elements.
• Work in tandem with communications, branding, and marketing teams to ensure narrative coherence and message consistency.
• Monitor success metrics and adjust strategies to enhance reach and influence.
• Manage vendor workflows, oversee invoicing and budgets, and track media coverage and performance metrics.
• Utilize an AI-driven growth mindset to expand impact and enhance efficiencies while ensuring quality and brand consistency.
• 5–7+ years of experience in communications, preferably within the healthcare sector.
• A portfolio showcasing excellence in long-form storytelling that is executive/mission-driven.
• Experience in engaging with clinical, policy, or scientific stakeholders.
• Ability to distill complex scientific and healthcare policy information into clear messaging.
• Strong strategic thinking, writing judgment, and presence in executive settings.
• Driven by the impact on patients and advocating for equitable genomic healthcare.
• Proven self-starter with a proactive approach.
• Familiarity with innovative communication strategies across diverse multimedia platforms.
• Experience in building relationships and working effectively with journalists.
• Ability to excel in fast-paced environments and adapt to change.
• Reliable high-speed internet access.
• Proficient in effective communication via phone and video calls.
• Capability to sit for prolonged periods, up to 8 hours a day.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
