Associate Director – College Access and Success

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee, mentor, and develop a team comprising College Access Managers and College Success Managers.

• Assist the Director in formulating and implementing strategic plans for both teams.

• Create and sustain standardized advising tools, rubrics, and data resources.

• Encourage continuous learning and development by pinpointing areas for growth.

• Cultivate a positive team environment and enhance staff engagement.

• Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new members for the College Access and College Success teams.

• Monitor Scholar progress across caseloads and identify emerging trends.

• Co-facilitate weekly team meetings and conduct one-on-one sessions with team members.

• Assist College Access Managers and College Success Managers in fulfilling their programmatic duties.

• Design and maintain systems, policies, and infrastructure that facilitate efficient program delivery.

• Contribute to ongoing program assessment by tracking Scholar-facing data.

• Supervise project timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.

• Collaborate with the Director and other Program departments to strategize for Summer Academy.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in serving or supporting high school or undergraduate students.

• At least 3 years of experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

• Over 3 years of experience in a leadership role.

• Commitment to Thrive's mission and dedication to supporting students from under-resourced communities.

• Strong knowledge of college admissions processes and student success, particularly for first-generation and under-resourced students.

• Proven track record in designing or implementing strategy-driven programs that enhance college access and student success.

• Proficiency in data tracking, management, and analysis.

• Exceptional people management skills, with a talent for coaching and developing teams to achieve ambitious objectives.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

• Skilled in project management, capable of handling multiple priorities, assessing outcomes, and making data-informed decisions.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and establish strong working relationships in a remote setting.

• Familiarity with the college access landscape in New York and/or Chicago is preferred.
