Associate Director, Client Services – Medical and Scientific Communications

📋 Description

• Oversee client relationships while fostering both new and existing connections.

• Execute projects adhering to standards of operational excellence: within budget, on schedule, error-free, aligned with strategy, and compliant with applicable policies and guidelines.

• Guide account teams to ensure their success and professional development.

• Build and maintain professional relationships with client stakeholders, gaining insights into their roles, preferences, motivations, and desired outcomes.

• Represent and advocate for Simpson’s brand in all client interactions, communications, and deliverables.

• Collaborate with clients to formulate strategies and achieve their desired results.

• Attend and facilitate successful client meetings, status calls, brand planning sessions, workshops, advisory boards, speaker training, and congresses.

• Manage projects for designated clients, coordinating internal teams and third-party vendors.

• Track project progress and manage adjustments to deliverables, timelines, and project objectives.

• Communicate any changes in scope through established internal processes.

• Prepare, revise, and review monthly phasing reports, ensuring communication with the Finance department.

• Comply with and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and project management methodologies, including PIT Crew, Basecamp, CCR, Good to Go, and weekly client updates.

• Maintain current knowledge of managed products, disease areas, and brand and company strategies.

• Develop and present client pitches, presentations, and metrics in collaboration with Leadership and Marketing.

• Ensure the delivery of scoped work and proactively address projects at risk of cancellation.

• Supervise, train, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to team members.

• Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings, supporting performance evaluations and improvement plans.

• Delegate projects based on team members' experience, development, and workload.

• Identify necessary systems, tools, processes, and resources for the team.

• Coordinate with Leadership, various departments, and cross-functional teams.

• Lead or oversee Statements of Work (SOWs), budgets, approvals, addenda, terminations, pipeline reports, and Purchase Order (PO) acquisition.

• Approve and prepare staff timesheets.

• Attend relevant internal meetings and perform other assigned duties.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in medical communications, healthcare marketing, or a scientific agency.

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a focus on Marketing, Business, or Science.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients, internal teams, and staff.

• Previous experience in people management is preferred.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to utilize internal and external relationships to enhance projects, clients, and the company.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.

• Experience with Basecamp or similar project management tools is preferred.

• Advanced skills with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, and other web-conferencing platforms.

• Effectively communicate with a diverse range of audiences.

• Team-oriented, proactive, and willing to take initiative.

• Eagerness for continuous learning, collaboration, and critical thinking.

• Willingness to travel to meet stakeholders as necessary, up to 25% of the time.

• Must reside within the country where the position is posted to qualify for the remote job opportunity.
