This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create, develop, and refine agentic AI systems, progressing from validated concepts to production-quality capabilities with defined stage gates and measurable results.
• Design and develop user-friendly, accessible interfaces for agentic AI products, collaborating with solution owners to transform concepts and prototypes into production-ready experiences.
• Take ownership of the hands-on implementation of agent architectures (single-agent, multi-agent, human-in-the-loop) across various enterprise applications, and construct the production stack that supports them, encompassing interfaces, APIs, data integrations, identity and access, data and memory, infrastructure, and observability.
• Create and rigorously test reference implementations for core agentic functionalities, including tool usage, memory, planning, orchestration, and inter-agent communication, to determine reliable solutions at an enterprise scale.
• Design abstraction layers and reusable infrastructure components that maintain vendor independence across large language model (LLM) providers, orchestration frameworks, and cloud environments.
• Assist in the onboarding and enablement of AI tools developed across practices onto a unified platform, ensuring capabilities operate on shared infrastructure, standards, and governance.
• Define and refine technical standards for agent development: model selection, prompt architecture, autonomy calibration, observability, and guardrails, ensuring every capability is built on a robust foundation suitable for production.
• Establish evaluation frameworks and scoring rubrics for agent performance, reliability, and safety that can be consistently operationalized across the platform.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders, translating validated field patterns into reusable platform capabilities while effectively managing stakeholders across multiple teams and organizations simultaneously.
• Continuously evaluate the forefront of agentic AI, including emerging models, frameworks, tools, and architectural patterns, translating insights into specific recommendations for development, acquisition, or monitoring.
• Act as a practitioner voice on generative AI and agentic systems, contributing to Vista's thought leadership and helping to shape the platform's technical direction in collaboration with leadership.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
• Over 3 years of experience in AI/ML platform architecture and development, with significant recent experience (2+ years) in generative AI and agentic architectures within production applications.
• Proven history of delivering AI applications to production environments, rather than just prototypes.
• Strong grasp of public cloud AI services and the capability to design vendor-agnostic solutions with suitable abstraction layers.
• Proficiency in front-end engineering and UI/UX design, including hands-on experience in delivering polished, user-facing interfaces, is a significant advantage for this position.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience within private equity portfolio companies, consulting, or multi-client environments is a notable advantage.
• The base salary is just one part of the overall compensation package for employees.
• Additional rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
