This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Offer regulatory compliance support, guidance, and counsel to the Technology & Operations team as part of the Enterprise Compliance Program.
• Recognize and convey new and revised regulatory updates and engage in implementation efforts.
• Enhance comprehension and execution of technology risk requirements within the Enterprise Operational Risk Management Framework.
• Conduct risk assessments adhering to ORMF and ECP standards.
• Sustain the Process, Risk, and Control Framework, including tools and control libraries.
• Supervise enterprise-level new and updated policies, evaluating their impact on Technology & Operations.
• Utilize data for root-cause analysis and predictive evaluations, providing both qualitative and quantitative risk and compliance reports.
• Contribute to regulatory programs, governance and control standards, evidence-based controls, and risk management initiatives.
• Counsel senior leaders and stakeholders regarding regulations, policies, strategies, priorities, resources, and risk mitigation tactics.
• Prepare and present briefings to senior leaders on regulatory issues spanning multiple businesses and groups.
• Manage or assist with intricate risk programs, frameworks, projects, and initiatives.
• Keep abreast of industry and legislative changes, updating programs as necessary.
• Interpret regulatory demands, pinpoint gaps, and formulate action plans.
• Assess, design, and implement internal control systems.
• Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the organization in governance and risk discussions.
• Lead change management and operational initiatives, encompassing planning, execution, assessment, and sustainability.
• Develop, document, maintain, and communicate group and business procedures.
• Monitor exception and exemption requests along with their approvals.
• Facilitate training and awareness initiatives.
• Ensure quality control for investigations, self-reports, examinations, audits, and independent assessments.
• Assist with regulatory examinations, audits, risk remediation, policy execution, risk measurement, and reporting.
• Analyze the program's impact and effectiveness through regular reviews and recommend necessary modifications.
• Operate as a specialist resource at a group or enterprise-wide level for senior leaders and stakeholders.
• A minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in the Technology or Financial sector.
• A graduate or post-graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, mathematics, or business management.
• At least 5 years of experience in the risk and compliance field.
• Proficiency in analyzing and assessing observations based on compliance, operations, risk models, and performance metrics.
• Capability to review written documents for compliance with state, federal, and contractual regulations and to draft policy language as needed.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other data analytics dashboard tools.
• Strong skills in data analytics, reporting, and presentations.
• Ability to convey complex technical subjects to non-technical business audiences.
• CRISC, CGEIT, CISA, CISM, PMP, or cloud compliance certification is advantageous.
• Familiarity with software development practices, concepts, and methodologies.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks within complex organizations.
• Understanding of technology challenges faced by financial service firms and cloud-based application service providers.
• Comprehension of enterprise risk management processes.
• Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Exceptional skills in program management, verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities, influence, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making.
