Associate Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT data pipelines utilizing Matillion or similar tools.

• Collaborate with Snowflake for data storage, processing, and analysis.

• Create, enhance, and manage SQL queries for extensive datasets.

• Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources including APIs, S3 files, and databases.

• Oversee and resolve issues related to data workflows and pipelines.

• Aid in the scheduling and automation of tasks using orchestration tools.

• Ensure the quality, consistency, and reliability of data.

• Work alongside team members and stakeholders to comprehend data needs.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes and workflows.

• Engage in continuous learning to adapt to new technologies, tools, and data engineering methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• 0–1 years of experience, which may include internships, certifications, academic projects, or practical exposure in Data Engineering.

• Solid understanding of SQL, including joins, aggregations, and the fundamentals of query optimization.

• Basic proficiency in Python or another scripting language.

• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing principles.

• Knowledge of Linux/Unix commands and environments.

• Basic understanding of cloud platforms, ideally AWS services like S3, EC2, and Lambda.

• Experience with Snowflake and Matillion or comparable ETL/data integration tools.

• Awareness of scheduling and orchestration tools such as Airflow or cron.

• Understanding of APIs and data formats like JSON and CSV.

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team.

• Capability to quickly learn new technologies and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
