This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the visual creative development for brand campaigns, social media, editorial content, lifecycle marketing, creator partnerships, and product storytelling projects.
• Define and advance Weedmaps’ visual identity and design standards across various channels and platforms.
• Create campaign concepts, visual systems, and creative frameworks that enhance audience engagement and drive business results.
• Ensure that creative outputs reflect outstanding craftsmanship, consistency, and cultural relevance.
• Collaborate with Editorial, Social, Lifecycle, Growth, Product Marketing, and Studio teams to transform strategic goals into impactful visual solutions.
• Develop scalable design systems and modular creative frameworks that facilitate quick iterations and cross-channel deployment.
• Direct social-first creative initiatives optimized for Instagram, TikTok, short-form video, and new platforms.
• Work alongside Production teams to streamline creative workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
• Investigate and implement AI-assisted design workflows that boost speed, scalability, and creative effectiveness.
• Stay informed about design trends, internet culture, platform behaviors, and emerging technologies.
• Provide creative leadership and direction to designers, freelancers, contractors, and production collaborators.
• Mentor and nurture creative talent through guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
• Review and approve creative work to ensure it aligns with brand standards and strategic objectives.
• Assist in establishing team processes, creative standards, and quality control measures.
• Work with Creative Leadership on resource planning, staffing requirements, and workflow prioritization.
• Promote a culture of creative excellence, innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
• Contribute to the long-term creative vision and organizational development projects.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in design, art direction, or creative leadership roles.
• A strong portfolio showcasing excellence in campaigns, social content, digital storytelling, and brand systems.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary creative projects across various channels and platforms.
• A solid understanding of typography, layout, motion, visual storytelling, and contemporary design systems.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in dynamic creative environments.
• Extensive knowledge of social-first creative development and platform-native content creation.
